Product features

The storage tank adopts a top out liquid structure, with no risk of low-temperature liquid leakage.


The shell is made of carbon steel material, which saves material costs.


By using this top discharge liquid storage tank, there is no need to set up a pump tank in the system, and there is no pump tank return pipeline, making the system more concise and safe.


This top out liquid storage tank can eliminate the need for cold boxes and cofferdams in the system, reduce the space occupied by the system, and also avoid cracking of the cement cofferdam due to deck deformation.


The pump is placed inside the storage tank, without the need for pre cooling, and the pump operates stably, saving filling time.


The top of the storage tank is equipped with a pump inlet and outlet well, and the pump can be maintained in the future.


This top out liquid storage tank can reduce the overall construction cost of the barge LNG refueling system by about 20%, and reduce the system's BOG volume by 40%.

 

Technical Requirements

 

The design, manufacturing and inspection of marine LNG fuel tank mainly according to "Provisional Rules for the Statutory Inspection of LNG Fueled Inland Filling Barges" (2018) - The Maritime Safety Administration of the People's Republic of China and "Specification for LNG Fuel Filling Barges" (2021) – China Classification Society.

 

The inner vessel is used to store liquid natural gas, and the shell material is S30408 or S31608 stainless steel, which has good low temperature resistance. The shell plays a protective role and provides reliable protection for the interlayer insulation material and vacuum degree.

 

The interlayer adopts high-vacuum multilayer insulation, and the insulation material is made of aluminum foil and glass fiber paper, which greatly reduces heat intrusion, reduces the evaporation rate of LNG, and ensures long-term storage.

 

The storage tank is equipped with stainless steel cryogenic globe valve, combined vacuum valve (including vacuum gauge to measure the vacuum degree of the insulation layer at any time), safety valve, relief device, pressure gauge, liquid level gauge and other valve instruments.

 

The inner vessel is equipped with two sets of independent over-pressure relief devices to effectively ensure the safety of the tank. In addition, the safety explosion-proof devices installed on the outer vessel further ensure the safety and reliability of the entire equipment.

 

For the inner vessel of the storage tank, 100% Radiographic Testing (RT) is first performed on Category A and Category B welded joints. This is followed by 100% Penetrant Testing (PT) on all welded joints. After ensuring that the non-destructive testing results are qualified, a pneumatic test is conducted on the inner vessel. Finally, each weld and joint is subjected to a leak test using a helium mass spectrometer leak detector.

 

The finished paint film on the outer surface of the storage tank is dense, firm and reliable, and the dry film thickness of the paint is greater than 200 µm.

 

The tank needs to be replaced with nitrogen before leaving the factory. Fill the interior of the liquid container with 0.03~ 0.05Mpa pressure nitrogen gas for protection.

 

The marine LNG fuel tank is highly integrated, intelligent, safe and reliable, easy to operate. It is mainly used for receiving and storing LNG, and supplying natural gas fuel to power devices such as engines and generators on ships.
